How to thrive at Christmas time

The lead up to Christmas can be a busy time, busier than usual! There are deadlines at work, presents to buy and wrap, and a Christmas meal to prepare. Amongst all that busyness, are you taking time to care for yourself?

Because running on an empty tank only adds to the stress and pressure you might be feeling. Permission to ease up on yourself. Take off your superhero cape and do what you need to do to support your own well-being!

3 tips to help you thrive during Christmas

Live Well Tip # 1 -  Write down your plans for the Christmas period.

What have you committed to attend? For each of these events or activities, write down what you need to do to prepare for them. E.g. book travel, arrange house or pet sitters, prepare food, buy an outfit etc. By writing the details down, you've got a much better idea of what's happening when and how!

Live Well Tip # 2 - Prioritise what you'll give your attention, energy and focus to.

There are only 24 hours in the day and you need to sleep about 8 of them! What MUST you do? Notice I said "must" not "should" - there's a big difference between the two! It's also useful to think about the amount of time you're prepared to commit to events and activities because this will help you decide whether you say "yes" or "no" to an invite.

Live Well Tip # 3 - Protect and prioritise self-care.

It can be tempting to ditch your self-care routine because there's so much to do and not enough time, argh! You and your well-being are always a priority but especially when there's the extra stress and pressure of an occasion like Christmas.

Christmas happens every year and if every year you feel stressed and under pressure, not able to relax and enjoy the festivities, then it's time to do something different.
