What you schedule first matters!
/It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and bustle. The weeks, months, and years can fly by and so often, the activities, appointments, and people that matter to you either get squeezed in when there's time or don't happen at all.
That's disappointing and frustrating, right? And maybe you’ve been wondering what you can do about it because you want things to be different.
The good news is there is something you can do and you can do it RIGHT NOW!
Schedule what matters to you FIRST
Yes! One of the perks of being responsible for your life is you can CHOOSE what goes into your schedule.
When planning out the year, month or week, start by putting in all your special dates (like birthdays and anniversaries), holidays, retreats, appointments, events, and anything else that’s important to you.
Then (and this is key) everything else fits in and around them.
It's not the other way around!
You might be thinking but that’s impossible for you because things are always changing and you don't know what will be happening, and to an extent, I agree. Things will come up and you may need to change your plans, or maybe you won't.
Here's an example.
I used to get annoyed that at the end of a relaxing haircut appointment there’d be a lot of toing and froing to find a date and time for my next one. As different options were suggested, I could feel my stress levels rise. So, after a while, here's what I decided to do - I figured out the day and time I prefer the appointment to be and then wrote down the dates of my appointments for a year so they could all be booked at once.
Years later, I still do that. (I also do it with my beauty therapist and massage appointments)
And you know what?
The appointments rarely needs to change.
If you don't already, will you write the appointments, holidays, outings, or whatever is important to you in your Planner (or diary or calendar)?
Honestly, it's been a game-changer for me and the people I've shared this with because we're no longer constantly scrambling to try and fit in what's important to us - we've already prioritised it!
Here's to living your real life well, now.
