The quality of your relationship with yourself is EVERYTHING.
/It's not easy to love yourself, especially in a world that will, in a heartbeat, tell you what you should be doing, saying, thinking, feeling and how you should look. And by the way, they have a product to help you with that!
The more confident you feel about WHO you are and what matters to you, the less you'll be impacted by the words and actions of others and the events or situations you face.
How do you rate the relationship you have with yourself?
Use a scale of 1-10 where 1 is you don't like yourself, let alone love yourself. You constantly give yourself a hard time, find fault and criticise yourself. And 10, you know yourself well and you love all of who you are. While you can be affected by what happens around you (it's only natural that you would), you're able to let go and move on without it dragging you down.
As you think about your relationship with yourself do it with kindness. Simply observe - look at the relationship and notice how it is.
What number did you choose from 1-10?
Regardless of the number, identify ONE thing that you commit to focusing on. Whatever you choose, it's something that will help you develop the relationship you have with yourself. It doesn't have to be an epic-sized thing (unless that's right for you). Just choose ONE thing and do that.
Your relationship with yourself affects every other relationship
The stronger your relationship with yourself, the better your relationships with others will be. Whether that's with a loved one, family, friends, colleagues, clients or whoever - the quality of these relationships will reflect how you feel about yourself.
For those in business, you might notice that you've been struggling to develop strong relationships with existing and new clients, maybe people are put off working with you because they feel you lack confidence, or you have a tough time letting people know what you do and how you can help. That will change when you work on the relationship with yourself.
And in life, perhaps you're doing things to please people, to gain the love and approval of others, and you ride a wave of euphoric highs and crashing lows depending on what others have said and done. Again, that will start to change too.
You can create a new reality and it starts with nurturing the relationship you have with yourself.
