Choosing to create change in your life can be hard (but it's worth it, isn't it!)
/Making the headlines recently was the news that Prince Harry and Meghan will step back as senior royals. And as you'd expect the news has been met with mixed reactions. My reaction, well, I cried when I read the news (they were happy tears!).
Here's what got me so emotional.
It takes courage NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE to make the decision to create change in your life.
What Harry and Meghan are doing, in my books anyway, is consciously crafting a life that fulfils royal responsibilities and their own personal desires. They are forging a future that aligns with who they are and what they value. And that gets me excited because it's my mission in life and business to inspire people to live well - to live in alignment with what they value.
Many of us won't experience the intense public scrutiny that Harry and Meghan have and will continue to face. Oh, and I can't begin to imagine conversations that have happened within "the Firm" to get to the point of the announcement! There have probably been more than one or two tense moments at the dinner table!
But let's not play things down for ourselves either. Because the truth is, it won't be easy for you or me to create change in our life either! Family, friends, your partner, children, colleagues, peers, your next-door neighbours' twice removed cousin, the person in the shop who you've never met before, someone on social media who you don't know... they are ALL going to have an opinion.
But please remember this...
You know the dream you have for your life best.
And this life your living now isn't a dress rehearsal. If there are changes you want to make, take a breath and remember who you are because in the wise words of Winnie the Pooh...
You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.
Imagine living the life you dream of. Imagine how that would be! Immerse yourself in that thought - picture yourself living that life fully and completely now.
The life you dream of is possible but it can only be made real if you commit to taking the first step. And it doesn't need to be a giant step, in fact, small steps, even small wobbly steps, are perfect.
If you haven't already written your dream down, grab your Live Well Life Planner now and do that on the "living well means..." page. Or if you don't have a Planner (yet) you could jump on over and order one or grab a notebook or journal.
Once that dream is written down, write down your first step and do it. Because you know you can.
Go well.
