Believe in you, you have so much to offer
/You have so much to offer
- Tracey Hancock
It's not often that I make big sweeping statements, but I'm going to go out on a limb now and say ... I think you're underestimating what you have to offer and what you contribute.
Just think about everything you do and give to your family and friends, at work, to the organisations or groups you belong to, in your community or wherever it is that you spend time. And it's not just what you do and give; it's who you are and how you do what you do.
You are a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
Yes, you are.
So, stop undervaluing yourself.
That's said with love and kindness - there's absolutely no judgement or criticism in that statement.
I consistently undervalued myself for years, falling into the trap of thinking everyone else knew more than me, or that they could do a better job than I could. I would put myself down. I still do from time to time, especially when I'm tired, but these days I'm lightning quick to recognise what's going on and respond well.
If you are putting yourself down, undervaluing who you are and what you have to offer, then I want you to know that you don't need to keep doing it because you really are a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
Let your light shine
Instead of putting yourself down, lift yourself up.
Instead of downplaying a skill, acknowledge and celebrate it.
Instead of pushing away a compliment or a thank you, accept it graciously.
Be the real you
Within each of us, and that includes you, is a unique blend of skills, experiences, attributes, passions, interests, viewpoints and more. Acknowledge and celebrate that.
Valuing yourself isn't about a great big fanfare (unless of course, that feels right for you). It's about humility, honesty and authenticity. It's about proudly acknowledging yourself in private and public for who you are and what you offer.
Let's start a revolution!
As you shine a light on who you are and value yourself more, you'll be making a significant difference in your own life and positively influencing those around you - your family and friends, colleagues and people within your community. Imagine the ripples that you'll be creating!
You need you to be YOU. No one else can do a better job of it than YOU.
Stand in your truth and value yourself. Start small, start in private, the important thing is you start. Acknowledge yourself, right now, for who you are and what you've contributed today.
You have so much more to offer than you think and now is your time to shine a light on that.
Believe in you.
